Kompass Map
We have samples many maps of the island. We live on the island. We try to find all the best places to visit and the best hotel in Mallorca to stay in. For us we need a map which allows us to explore the island before making a trip to discover an undiscovered cala or a fresh trail. We recommend the Kompass walking map as being the best map for our purposes. I 'found' this map from a German friend who likes to explore. I have never looked back. I was not able to buy this on the island although it is certainly for sale here. I recommend ordering beforehand.

Above is Alaro where I live. Many map mark the road to the castle, but this one also contains a great trail which leads from the back of the castle to the valley of Orient. If you are exploring beach callas, you will find many with trails on this map which are simply not marked on other maps.

Some reasons why we like this map:
- The scale is great.
- The map is double sided to save weight.
- The paper is durable.
- The names are in spanish so that when you ask people where you are going they understand.
- Many peaks marked.
- Many hidden callas ( beach coves ) marked with paths down.
- You have to admit it - the germans don't just do good cars...
